PLease help me!!!!

I have been backing up some dvd for a wgile now and am aware of the two prgrammes dvd2one and dvd shrink. I'm using them both on and off and getting a mixed result. Some of the backups i do are pauseing and some dont play at all. Is there anyone who can give me a sue fire way of backing up my films and burning them so they are perfedt each time.

Im using a p4 2.4gig chip

hi and welcome to the forum,
first off there is no surfire way that your dvd backup will work! not if you center on just one method!

honestly i do not have any experience with DVD2ONE, but for my part the DVDshrink backups always worked. So i'm guessing that your problem lies with your burner / media combination or with your media / standalone combination!
so pls browse to www.dvdrhelp.com and see what you find about your standalone / burner / media

If this doesn't lead to any clues, try burning at 1x speed and see if it improves the situation.

I have to admit all of the above are rather broad guesses, but in order to be able to help you, you have to be much more specific with your problem description!

Ok thanks for the help.

Im ripping the disks with dvd decrypter and compressing them with shrink. I have a A05 and have tried to burn at 2x. This helped on a few of them. I was really just seeing if it was me or are there any real differences with the two programmes.

I have used dvd2one but it seems to take up so much of the cpu effort it can be a pain in the arse. Shrink seems to be a bit more forgiving.

Also......

Do you disable the burn option on yours. I have found this and done so not sure if this is a good idea to burn film stright after the compression? What do you think?

Any help will do

Thanks:)

Use killingspree's link. Upon arrival at that site, scroll down to the "DVD Writers" link in the left navbar. When you arrive at that link's destination, enter your specific burner model in the search textbox. You'll now have lots of input from other owners of the same drive and can see what they're using for media, and other information, to boot.

Hi,
I just had a German DVD9 disc, where
DVDShrink 3.1.7.6 gives always a bluescreen and crashes the PC
Windows 2000 SP4
after about 75 %.

Then I tried DVD2ONE 1.40 and it worked with the same DVD9,
reading directly from the DVD9.

But which software has a better videoimage quality after
compression ?

Any comparison tests done yet ?

Thanks.

Regards, Harti.

I've tried Dvd2one and dvdshrink on The Return of the King. They gave very similar results. Both gave quite a blocky picture with this movie. But one was not worse than the other or anything.
So i think they're pretty much tied quality-wise.
