I am a newbie so I wonder if this is a common problem with Xvid / AutoGK: the movies I encode either results in green flickering retangels, or in a small representation of the video in the upper left corner. Its a little hard to explain, but the picture iscorrupted. Could this be a codec problem?

Hello, and welcome to the forum!
Yes, what you describe certainly could be a codec problem. But whatever you've described, doesn't sound common, so it could be something else, too.
But since a picture is worth a thousand words, I am PMing you with an e-mail address to send an image, which I can upload here for you.
You can check to make sure XviD is installed also. If you run VirtualDubMod (C:\Program Files\AutoGK\VDubMod\VirtualDubMod.exe) you can use the Video...Compression menu command to see all of your installed video codecs, and ensure that XviD 1.0 is properly installed.

Thanks for your concern. Just wanted to let you know that the problem is gone. I removed Xvid and AutoGK, and reinstalled.

Nonetheless, the image could have been educative.
