OK, i am trying to joint the two discs of Return of the King. I have tried the manual way (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html) and dvd2one by using the join funkction. Both medtods results in a single sets of vobs, which after some modifications runs great on my computer. But, when i burn it (well afters som heavy encoding oc) and plays it on my standalone (Pioneer DV-444) the are som really strange glitches (just black and the sound can be heard, or the chapter points is strange...) in the position where the first part (dvd1) ends and the secon part (dvd2) starts. When I lock at the PGC info in Ifoedit I see that in this break I got four empty cells. Look here: http://www.morck.se/empty.jpg Are these cells empty? What I can see is that the value aftes "V/C Id:" seems strange on the added second part (29->). AND they are really short. Untill that all valus seems logic. These cells also seems to be chapter points. (sorry for my bad explanations but as I said, i AM a novice).

OK! My qustions, what can I do to remove these strange empty cells and chapterpoints? WHat app do I need to use? Did I do anything wrong in the process in creating one single large set of VOBs? Please, LERN ME!

EDIT: ONE MORE ODD THING!
If I thy to use DVDShrink to reauthor it in two set of vobs and i pace those two titles in the new disk. If I choose to look at the start and end fram possibility and step forward on the last disc the first 13 seconds displays NOTHING (all black and no sound) and in these seconds you can see in the chapter box that the chapter steps fron 1 to 28 during these silent seconds, next step is empty and the the picture apears and it shows chapter 29.

EDIT2: The same goes for the last seconds on disc 1. If I lock at this part in Shrink "Set Start/End Frames". The last picure in the preview window indicate chapter 28 in the chapter box. After that for each step I take the chapter goes from 29 to 61 BUT WITH NO PICTURE OR SOUND. Hmmm, strange!!

These tiny chapters are intended to help you to jump to the end of the movie during the last "real" chapter, usually credits.

If you want to use VobEdit as described in the guide you mentioned, you have to get rid of these chapters first using the same program VobEdit. Open the first VOB of the first disc, click Demux, select VobId and Demux Complete Titleset. It will split the VOBs so you can find and discard these tiny chapters. Then rename the files as mentioned in the guide and try again.

I wouldn't recommend using DVD Shrink for joining the discs because you won't be able to jump from one half of the movie to another using Prev/Next buttons or FF/Rew.
