Guys,
Is there any (noticable) increase in quality if you increase the number of passes or does it depend on the movie.
Thanks

I'd say you gain more by precompressing the menu with dvdshrink and stripping things you dont need (subs, audio).
That said, I always select 3 passes in DVD-RB. It's a psycholigical thing I guess, makes me feel better :)

Each additional pass may show improvement but the amount of that improvement is exponentially smaller than the previous. So it's a matter of whether you think the improvement is worth the time. I've seen the reports -- but I have a hard time imagining how additional passes can actually damage picture quality.
i would have to agree with jdobbs on this one with my eyes (as good as they are 20/20) i can not see much of a difference from 2 or more passes. but saying that if the reduction is less then 70% i'll do 3 passes, 70% and more i'll use 2 passes. that's just what i like.
It depends on the reduction for me.
99% > 80% = 2 Passes
79% > 60% = 3 Passes
>59% or less = 4 Passes

all,
Are you all counting the vaf as one pass?
