Hi, I have a couple of AVI's with 5.1ch AC3 sound and I want to make a DVD of them with the sound untouched. Installed the DVD2SVCD bundle, but the choice "Do not convert audio (use source audio) is grayed out. I don't seem to be able to get it un-greyed by changing any other selection... The dvd2svcd readme says that "No Images" has to be selected in the CD Image tab, but it's still greyed out if I select that option. And Scenarist doesn't want muxed input, so selecting that shouldn't rule out source audio...

By checking the "Don't delete any files" I get the .ac3 file and can use that together with the .mpv file in an authoring program (though the audio is 3 seconds longer, haven't tried how it syncs) - but I want this one/few-click solution. And why wait for the audio to be converted when I don't want it to?

Just for trying out DVD2SVCD/AVI2DVD I went ahead anyway and it made a VIDEO_TS folder AND an .iso file - it seems to be either both or none?

You are not the first, who think about this.
This feature is still a plan, but upcoming versions will support. Right now U can't do anything else, just author manually, using the ac3 track. Nick posted a guide about this topic.
The 'do not convert audio' checkbox is for DVD2xxx mode, that's why it is grayed out in avi2DVD mode.
Tip: Use besure to fix the ac3 file before using it to author the DVD.

OK, thanks. I'll look into besure to be sure the audio is alright.

The guide is now Q74 in the Q+A sticky.
Good luck.

As for authoring, if you select DVDAuthor, you have a checkbox to select whether you want an ISO image or not. With Scenarist, image creation is automatic.

Just reporting back that the procedure described in Q74 works like a charm, also together with using D2SRoBa and subtitles as well. Now it's just italics in subtitles...
