I was wondering if someone in here use ATI's MMC 9.0 to capture MPEG-2 DVD 704x576 format?

The strange thing is that I can capture 720x576 mpeg2 with no problems for hours but if i use the same template and just change to 704x576 MMC will crash after 15-20 min capture!

This is really annoying since 720 is WRONG and gives wrong aspect ratio on a standalone dvd player.

If this is specific to MMC 9.0 could you tell me if an earlier version works?

My card is an AIW 9800pro and i have disabled fastwrite.

EDIT:
Maybe I should add this:

The reason is why you should capture 704 and NOT 720:
- When the standalone DVD player runs a 704x576 file it adds black bars on each side to fill to 720 to compensate for lack of overscan and then stretches to 4:3 ratio.

- But a 720x576 file is assumed to already include overscan so no black bars are added before stretching.

NOW THE PROBLEM, ATI's AIW cards capture WITHOUT the overscan and then MMC stretches to 720 with the default DVD templates. This makes a file that is 720x576 and fools a standalone DVD player to think it has overscan! Therefore no black bars is added and the aspect ratio is wrong with an image more stretched than live tv was!

What module does the crash occur in ? (it would usually be a .dll or .ax file when you view the crash information)

I have now tested MMC 8.7, 8.9, and 9.0 and they all does this with 704x576.

I dont understand why 704 doesnt work but 720 does?
