Why isn't there any support for OGG? We all know that it sounds far better than MP3... I know it can't be played on standalones (for now) but a lot of us here playes movies on computers.
Thanks

Mmmm.
Actually Kiss players can play ogg files. Anybody knows if this includes ogg audio inside an AVI?
Then there's the synch problem of VBR audio in AVIs (in standalone players)...

AFAIK Ogg audio is not supported in the AVI container structure.

Such player must be really crap if it still has such issues.
Regarding OGG - no OGM = no OGG.

As you all know just rename *.ogm into *.avi and you have avi file.

don't be sorry :)
you can indeed rename a .ogm file to a .avi file without losing the ability to play it. but despite its avi-extension, it still is an ogm file.
just try it yourself:
- create a .ogm file with VDubMod, or take one you already have
- rename it to .avi
- open it in GSpot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) and you'll see the stream type will still be ogg, not avi
ogm and avi are 2 different container formats. unfortunately, renaming the files is not enough to change the container format. you would have to remux it with e.g. graphedit or virtualdubmod. but as said before: ogg vorbis doesn't fit in the avi-container. thats just the way it is. :(

Ok, if you want it that way, then why don't you put OGM support in AutoGK? Maybe that question is simpler :)

Using the 'No Audio' option, and a very simple bit of pre-processing work on your part, AutoGK already does support OGG audio, quite nicely, I might add. See my detailed instructions in:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75684
And don't forget, you'll need to mux to an OGM or MKV container, *not* avi if you're using ogg audio.
Now, stop pestering len0x about this, especially with the confrontational and demanding sounding remarks like

He's already said several times that AutoGK will natively support OGG *one day* after all of the other basics are up to 100%. Do some searching before you post things like this, and give him some time.

While this thread is two and a half years old, and is from a discussion about another encoding suite, it is by no means outdated. I think it is apropos to govindayu's questions.
