Hi there,
i'm using gknot as a front end for xvid. Zone settings entered in the codec options windows for the first pass do not automagically show up in the second pass settings - do i have to define them twice?
Thank you for your answer,
Thoralf.

U do not have to do anything in zone option for first pass. Just leave the dafault one as is. What u got to do is to add a new zone in second pass. Set the weight to eg. 0.20, enable chroma optimizer and if the credits are black and white u would also enable greyscale encoding. GK would would autoset startframe for credits from the one set in preview window.

Obviously, I didn't make myself clear ...
My question was about zones entered manually (via codec settings on the page gk shows before the actual encoding starts - can't recall its exact name, and I'm not sitting on my encoding computer right now).
I want to make a backup of "Solaris" (original version by Tarkowski), and I have the ambition to fit the file on one CD. Since this movie is about 2.5 hours long, every bit counts: I therefore decided to encode all black and white scenes with xvid's b/w-option and set up zones accordingly in the first pass settings. However, these settings do not show up in the second pass settings, although they seem to be present in the secondpass.settings .
Now my question is: do I have to enter all the zones in the second pass settings as well or will GKnot fill them in automatically?
Thank you,
Thoralf.
