Super annoying problem this one :(

My computer keeps freezing (mouse, keyboard, everything) and NOTHING will move. I'm on a Athlon 2400xp, 512ram, 80gig, GeForce 4 5200, with Windows XP.

It's when I'm watching/capturing TV on my PVR250 or editing video in TMPGEnc or VirtualDub.

Seems as though it is video related?

Any idea's what would be a good option to try and fix this?

I've done all sorts of things like lowering the hardware acceleration, adjusting the BIOS, but to no avail :(

Please help :)

Maybe it's a driver related issue. Out of the two TV cards I've had, XP kinda hated them both.

hello.. maybe its a driver conflict. try using the. BtWinCap Drivers (http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/)
You can see the supported card in here (http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/supportedcards.html/)

Hope it works. :)

What is the speed of your HD and your ram? It may be a driver-related freeze but it could also be related to your ram and HD. Something you could try is next time you try capturing or editing video, open up the Windows Task Manager and under Performance see what your paging file usage is and the total available memory.
