AutoGK Question

hi all

im using AutoGk V1.0 i think and i was woundering why it takes so long to encode a Film? i was looking at the logs and it takes about 4-5 hours to encode! i have a fairly fast computer

AMD Athlon 2700+
768mb RAM
120gb HDD 7200RPM

is there anything i can do to make it faster or does it just take that long to encode anyways?

any help would be helpful!

Encoding is usually a slow process...4-5 hours sounds normal for a 2-pass encode of a 2hr movie.

oh... i thought it would be quicker.... oh well doesnt really matter.. i do it over night anyways...

That doesn't sound too bad, even more so if you are IVTCing something. With a 2pass encode of a 2 hour movie my system tak about 4 hours. So I think you are doing ok. :)

if 4-5 hrs is normal on 2 pass, whats it on 1 pass? yesterday i ran a 1 pass and it took about 4 hrs.
