Way to automatically add audio delay?

I'm using MPC and loving it a lot but I was wondering if there was a way (either with MPC or in some other player) to read the filename of the audio file and automatically detect the delay? I play movies with the sound output via spdif so I usually keep the .ac3 file separate and only encode the video. So suppose I played a movie with MPC playing the following for the audio:
Star Trek 6 AC3 T02 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 17ms.ac3
How do I make MPC (or any other player) automatically load the 17ms delay? I know how to manually add the delay, but I was curious if this can be automated? tia...

You don't. You can't add a delay smaller than 32ms without reencoding the file (and thus crapping the quality).

So what's keeping you from muxing to avi or matroska? There shouldn't be any problems with spdif output anyway.
