originally quted by jdobbs - Version 0.49

Below are a summary of the changes/updates associated with this version:

- Fixed an error that could cause audio drift over time, cell audio moving out of sync, and also was responsible for some (rare) "freezing" chapters. Thanks to Djuby for pointing out a disc through which it was repeatable.
Wow... I wish I had jumped on board after 048... Ha Ha...

I just batched up a whole Season of Law & Order and X-Files and ER... Seems I got this bug in some of the cells and was able to stop before 2/3 of the discs got burned when I saw your post... Nothing worse than Ben Stone giving his court room summation and looking like a cheap Godzilla movie with bad dubbing... :sly:

Thanks for the quick fix... I am back on track... :D

You (everyone) should burn your disks with dvdrw for now until rebuilder is out of beta. or if you burn to dvdr, at least look at them before going to the next disk ;)

(actually i advise that whatever backup method you use and beta or not).

Most of the errors can be seen in WinDVD or PowerDVD so just test in them before burning. I've only had one coaster caused by dvd-rb and thats a disc I didnt test before burning, oh and the only disc so far that DID have encoding errors! DOH!

It's like guns, just when you think you can handle them.. BLAM! A third eyehole.

Well using DVD-RW doesn't make sense for me... Heres why... DVD-RB seems pretty darn reliable at this point... Sure I'll MAYBE have an issue like the sync bug that jdobbs will fix in 22 seconds or less... But chances are If I burned to DVD-RW and watched the whole season of Law and Order I would have to leave the damn series on my hard drive... That's a problem... Also what if there was NO bugs and then I burned them to DVD-R... Now I assume I have it perfect and put them away cause I just watched them, not going to watch the DVD-Rs all over again... In 6 months I break them out again and find out Disc 2 had a bad BURN...

No, I think I will just burn them to DVD-R up front... If I have another issues with DVD-RB, jodobbs will solve it quickly and I will have to reburn a disk at the minimal cost of $0.59. Far less trouble than preburning everything, saveing to hard drive and reburning again later to final DVD-R.

Thanks again for the great tool Mr. Dobbs! :D

Well.. to each his own. If my origional gets messed up (we are making backups with this potential in mind) and i go to my backup and its messed up, it wont matter if it was an issue that was fixed .. or even my own fault.. or it was a bad disk in my dvdr blanks spindle..or whatever. i'll have to head back to the store and buy the thing again.

and as I said.. even if you burn to dvdr .. at least watch it (and i mean just skip through it.. make sure it plays to the end . make sure its in sync. make sure all your audios/subs are selectable) take 5-10 mins to make sure you have the peace of mind knowing your backup is there fully in tact.
