Is there a way to take a PAL dvd and back it up to NTSC? I've found countless guides for transferring pal to ntsc VCD/SVCD etc.. but none to NTSC DVD format.. There's got to be a way without having to downconvert to to svcd then reencode as a DVD (thus losing lots of time and quality in the process).
Thanks

I'm also desperate for help burning NTSC backups from import DVDs. I foolishly paid for DVDWizard several months ago. It came with convoluted instructions and lots of trial versions of software that expired. That was unsuccessful. It was my understanding that DVDXCopy could do the PAL-to-NTSC trick more easily, but it's expensive, and I'm also unclear about whether recent legal problems have affected its ability to do that - among its other issues. Can anyone please help?

Thanks for the reply... I have TMPGen plus working away at converting a PAL dvd to NTSC right now, whew... taking roughly 20 hours in total!
I've found a few different methods so far, the one I'm using now worked quite well.. thx

Many thanks for the help, killingspree. I'm checking out the links as well as TMPGen. Learning curve in effect, though cheap and simple are the main criteria.
