how can I create separate DVD for extras?

Dear members,

For DVD-9 I usually extrac the film, using DVD decrypter and compress it with DVD2ONE, make an image and burn it with ImageToolClassic and DVD Decrypter. If there are more extras on the DVD I want to make a new DVD with them. I noticed that DVD2ONE can extract only one "item" at a time. However, if the DVD has more extras I would like to put all together in a long sequence (no menu) on a new DVD. How can I put several VOB file sequences together and create the ifo and bup files in order to be able to play it back on a standalone player.

use DVD Shrink. this "Re-author" mode Basic guide (http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php) from the dvdshrink.info website is what you need.
Also reading the other guides too, they come in handy now and then.

See this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75342) for some more options. I wouldn't recommend DVD-Shrink in reauthor mode for extras because there are usually a lot of extras, which means you'll want a menu, and you can't keep the menu in reauthor mode.

Or, use DVD-RB. I used to put (with shrink) the movie and extras on separate discs if they were both good and too large for dvd-shrink. But lately using dvd-rb I've been able to but it all on a single disc with great quality. Especially the half-d1-bitrate for extras option kicks butt. This is with CCE of course.

Like wmansir mentioned in many cases it's nice to keep the menu. Take VobBlanker to blank the main movie which leaves you with all menus and extras.

Or shrink the main movie to still frames with no audio. That usually leaves plenty of room for the extras with no compression.

Just wanted to mention it for completeness. Personally, I think the VOBBlanker suggestion produces a cleaner result.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. I will try out vobblanker, which seems the easiest way to do.

Nero Recode also allows you to blank out menus, by selecting disable, and then choosing a color, like black. It even allows you to insert a picture if you so choose.
