I have music which comes in as a MP2 movie clip file. When I use BeSweet to convert to MP3 or .WAV the resulting music files fill a cd before the 780 mb size. The most I've gotten on the cd is around 650 mb, then Nero says "BURN PROJECT FAILED". Any help greatly appreciated. Terry

MP2 is a compressed format - WAV (in this case) isnīt compressed -> it needs more space on your disc :scared:
MP3 is also a compressed format and should need less space on your disc (but Iīm not sure if this transcoding makes sense)
If your player is able to play MP2 (if MP3 is possible, MP2 as single stream should also work) I would leave it in MP2 because converting from a lossy format (MP2) to another lossy format (MP3) means lossy quality
Make sure the audio meets CD-Audio specifications, 16-bit, 44100 Hz, stereo, etc. If it does, you should have no problems fitting up to 800 MB of WAVs.

Hint: Most DVD/MP3 players are able to play MP2 audio! MP3 decoders are "backwards-compatible", but some dont recognize the *.MP2 extension... So you have simply to rename the extension from *.MP2 to *.MP3! ;]

I ask because Nero, the software that came with burner, does not recognize mp2. I'm simply trying to burn some cd's of music I like but can not get the disc as full as I feel I should. As for checking all the parameters; incoming music is stereo, 194 bitrate. When I run BeSweet sample rate is changed to 44.1. That's all I know. Not any good at this, that's why I ask the questions. If anyone has the time for a step-by-step tutorial on how to accomplish this, please do so. Terry

Anyone care to tell me how to change file extension, as Soulhunter suggested? I'm running Windows 98SE if that matters. Terry

You dont see any file extensions?
IIRC you can enable this under: Explorer -> Extras -> Options...

The thing is, when burning an AUDIO CD your not going on the MB, but on the PLAYTIME
So choose Audio-CD, and not Data-CD
with your mp2 file, well latest nero can read that, and will make it perfect on the CDA
If not, use Winamp to make it to wave ...

Sorry if I'm a little slow on this and if I don't get it real soon, I'll stop posting. First,Soulhunter, I do see file extensions. What does,"IIRC you can enable this under: Explorer -> Extras -> Options..." mean? Internet Explorer, windows explorer? Second, emdiem, I do choose Music cd, not data. Total time that I can successfully burn is around 60 minutes. Forget anything any higher. Nero ver. OEM 5.5.9.19 Where do I get Winamp? Thanks, Terry

Then you can change them simply by renaming...

Btw, this renaming stuff is only usefully when...
- You dont wanna make a AudioCD (CDA), but a MP3 CD (Data)
- Your DVD/MP3 player refuses to play files with mp2 extension
