Hi. My problem is, that it won't burn my dvd's. When I put a dvd-r in and press burn it makes an error a few seconds later. I have unchekked reallocate VIDEO_TS because I have made 1 out of 7 and the one was with reallocate unchekked. But when i put a rewritable in i doesn't have any problems please help me. My firmware is 1.07 and I'm really desperate because i used dvd decrypter for a time, but recently it won't burn it says semafor timeout period expired. My log for imgtoolsburn is this. PLEASE HELP!!!!

DVD Decrypter shows 'semaphore timeout', Nero shows the above error.

They're the same thing.

take your drive out of the usb case and it'll be fine.

Did you only just buy the external casing or something? I cant see why else you'd suddenly have problems.

Hi sorry for my late reply. The external case isn't new and i have burned with it before. My computer is a labtop, so it's neccesary that it's external. And I have burned with it before on my labtop. Do you have any idea? I really need help.

Not a clue, sorry.

Okay I have a pioneer 104 (2x) (yes it is old :)), in a Samcheer external 5.25 enclosure. I can burn .iso files perfectly in dvddecrypter 3.51.0 using default settings on my shuttle system (sempron 2600, 256mb) - on this system usb 2.0 is native and does not require an additional usb2 card.

On my abit KX7 system however (Athlon XP 2000+ 512mb) the sempaphore timeout error always occurs when using the IO mode "Microsoft - SPTI" or any of the aspi alternatives. It does work using "ElbyCDIO - Elaborate Bytes". The KX7 is native usb 1.1 and I have to use an onboard usb 2.0 card. Nero and others will not work either.

The device buffer in dvddec, jumps back and forth from 99-98% on the shuttle, on the abit it goes from 99-39%. In short usb 2.0 addon cards are nowhere near as good as onboard usb 2.0 but I suppose you knew that already.
