View Full Version : DVD2AVI says PAL DVD is 20 fps ??

I want to back up my Simpsons DVDs in a small computer format, so I'm encoding them with avisynth and RealProducer 10 (looks very good with only 100MB per Episode)

Now I'm having a little problem, and I guess it's a DVD2Avi problem: it says the DVD is 20 fps interlaced (PAL R2 DVD) !?!

Now, it's not interlaced, but that doesn't matter, I just ignore what DVD2AVI says and everything's fine without deinterlacing.
However the 20fps thing is more of a problem as this seems to be set in the d2v project - and avisynth and RealProducer both take the video as 20fps and so the final file becomes 20fps...

However the audio is perfectly in sync throughout the files as if they really were 20fps - but that's impossible on a PAL DVD, right??

What can I do now? I guess just forcing 25fps through avisynth won't really help when the d2v file is already wrong...

P.S.: My DVD2AVI Version is 1.77.3dg1.0.0RC2

Oh damn...

Since when is "force film" activated by default??

OK, I unchecked it and now it is 25fps with intermediate interlaced frames, just like expected...

funny thing is this happened to me tonight as well
same same, 20 fps reported and then i realized forcefilm was checked :D can't begin to explain it either

this was with the 1.10 version of dvd2avidg

Maybe we're under Alien attack in PAL land?
