From analog source to LAN streaming in realtime?

Hello!
I was asked to find a solution for this problem: transmit video/audio from an analog videocamera (in a conference hall) via LAN to some PCs. I tryed VLC: it worked fine - even in multicast mode - with media I already had on my HD but now that it should be in realtime?
Suggestions?

this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69572) is about a new media suite called AIW. it have live video broadcast too (didn't try it though). seems a very interesting package, and quite small. runs without installing anything.

thanks for your reply: I found than VideoLAN has a great streaming feature which works well also on multicast network!
