VCD to JPEG?

Somebody lent me a VCD with photos on it.

I examined the VCD and there are a lot of dat files, I think each image has a corresponding dat file.

How can I convert these DAT files to the original JPG files so I can distribute these photos one by one?

Extract the mpeg1 from the dat with vcdgear (thats what I use, but there are several other programs that do it.) Open the mpg in either virtualdub or virtualdubmod. Select what you want and save it as a image. Command located under the file menu.
