I had a problem with audio dropping out for a less than a second at the 'join' when I streamed two DV files out using WinDV. So I fired up VDub to check the video and audio lengths.
To my surprise, and every file I have since checked since gives me the same result - the count of audio "frames" is 11 frames short of the number of video frames. (using PAL @ 25fps BTW)
I can understand that the "frame" count of the audio is (total audio samples) / (sample rate) * (frame per sec of the video)
The pre-load is 0.5 sec (24000 samples). The audio rate is 48000 Hz. If anything, the count should be out by 12 frames - but it is really worrying that it is always "out" by this fixed amount of 11 "frames". Does anyone know why?
MM.
