Hello,

I've encoded a clip using RePAL, with KernelBob as the smartbobber. The result is nice and smooth, but I get some shimmering at the top and bottom of the picture, as can be seen in this clip: http://rotfl.neostrada.pl/shimmer.avi (1.7 MB).
Is there a way to avoid this? I also tried TomsMoComp60 and DGBob, and KB gave me the least jaggies overall, so I'd like to keep using it, unless there's an even better solution.

Hi-

Add some black before using KernelBob, and then remove it when done. Example:

AddBorders(0,4,0,4)
KernelBob(4)
Crop(0,4,0,-4)
RePAL()

All credit goes to scharfis_brain (developer of KernelBob). When I first saw his solution to the flickering-on-top-and-bottom problem, I thought to myself, "That's pretty easy, so why couldn't I have figured it out?"

Hah, that's a nice one, thanks guys.
I thought (very vaguely) about something like that, but wasn't sure that would work.

Erm, you know what? It doesn't work. I even tried different colours, but the shimmer is always there.

How about This one (http://mf.creations.nl/avs/functions/AddPadding-v0.1.avs) ?

Hi,
It kind of works for the top, but not for the bottom. I guess that's because the padding at the bottom is the same as at the top.

*BUMP*

What about that padding at the bottom? Anyone?

Anyway, I've found a dvd where none of this will ever help. :p
