I'm having this weird problem when trying to view a divx file and I would like some suggestions on what might be causing this problem.
I'm running win2003 standard server, I have the codecs installed ok and yes I have watched other divx, xvid movies without a problem before.
A friend of mine gave me a movie which was cut in 2 parts, both divx, I watched the first part ok, but when I tried to load the second part with media player classic the program froze and sortly after that my system begun to respond extremly slow. I have tried using MS media player and I also tried winamp and I had the same problem.
I'm very curious to what might be causing this. If you have any ideas plz respond.

TIA

Doesn't sound like you're backing up your own legally-owned DVD... Read forum rule #6...

Come on! Why does everybody assume that if you get a movie from a friend that it would be an illegal copy of a DVD? Can't it just be a home-made movie like "My birthday party that sucked big time :p"? Lets focus on the actual questions next time...

As about your question xamenos I don't really have an answer. Maybe there was some error when reading from the CD, I don't know. There is a little utility on doom9's download section called divfix. That may fix it but then again maybe not.
