dvd2svcd-basic problem

Apologies if this has been posted before..can't get the new version to work with my dvds,had no problems with the older dvd2dvdr versions,using cce and dvd lab to mux.
Problem is when I load the decrypted file it says error.."the scenarist file does not exist"..I am very confused,surely you don't have to have a mega bucks programme like scenarist to make this new version work.

Nope, not anymore. As you can read in the dvd2svcd readme file dvd2svcd also support the freeware programs, Mplex, SpuMux, DVDAuthor and MkIsoFs. All you have to do to use those is go into the CDImage tab and select the DVDAuthor RadioButton.
