Video, Audio out of sync?

I have been using the following, to transfer my old VHS tapes to DVD:
Virtual Dub > TMPENC > DVD Lab > Nero

Now the DVDs play fine on my PC, & my stand alone Phillips player, but when a friend of mine plays them on his stand alone, the picture is ok, but the audio is really fast.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not ALL DVD stand alones are 100% compatable. Other factors are blank DVD, your burning software, and even your burner.
