I am recording TV with Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP expert card and Virtual VCR in PAL format.
I have read all the FAQ that says to capture the video using lossless codec and then compress it later using xVid/Divx.
My problem is that I don't have the free space needed to record TV with losssless codec so I want to capture directly to Divx.
I have tried to capture directly to Divx in 384*288 but after recording about 30 minutes the sound was out of sync.
Is there a solution for this problem ?
Is there another option for record other then lossless codecs that takes a lot of free space.

Thanks for your advices.

Look for some JPEG based codecs... ;)

try virtualdub. it'll drop frames while capturing to keep the sync. or, you can cap to divx/whatever, and the audio to wav with vdubsync, and then compress the audio. this way u may get fewer dropped frames.

Check out the newest MJPEG codec from www.leadtools.com The demo is completely functional, and if you like it, it's $9.95 US This has replaced all my others.
