when burning a dvd in nero, i get errors when verifying the IFO and BUP files. it will happen at both 4x and 2.4x. if i create an ISO image of the dvd and burn it with dvd decrypter, it verifies fine.
for the time being i'll be using imgtoolburn, which just added the /verify option for dvd decrypter :) but i dont like having to do the extra step of creating the image. can anyone recomend a faster way? or has anyone experienced this that can recomend a fix?
my system is:
winxp pro
nero 6.3.1.10
TDK 420n DVD+r burner + latest firmware version 13a
ritek / ricoh / tdk media ONLY (no cheapos)
athlon 1.4 / 1g ram

Did you use dvdstripper? It creates faulty .bup files that dont match the .ifo's.

they were from dvdshrink. does that create farked up BUPs/IFOs?
i guess a good test will be to rip a DVD-5 [with smart ripper / dvd decrypter] and burn the vobs with nero. normally with DVD-5 i create/burn an iso with dvd decrypter. i'll post back with my results. thanks for the insight

hmmmm..... it looks like nero and the IMAPI service conflict with eachother. i just ran across this thread:

the IMAPI service has never been started on my system. to be safe, i disabled it. nero is still failing, and now VOBs are failing as well as the IFO/BUPs. i burned the exact same dvd with IMG Tool / dvd decrypter and it verified fine. *sigh*
i just purchased a stack of ritek printables, we'll see if that has anything to do with it. i'm currently burning with TDK, which are rebranded richo according to dvd identifier

found this one nero's site:
NERO WEBSITE
FAQ #3. DVD compliance test failed (even with VOB, IFO or BUP)
Sometimes DVD Authoring programs create non-complaint video projects.
(Important Note: Nero can’t burn illegally ripped DVDs. Usually they losing compliance through ripping.)
lame. i guess i'll just use IMG tool / dvddecrypter.
