I was browsing the net other day when i noticed this:
www.dvcm.fi (http://www.dvcm.fi)
DVCM is a new patented Digital Video Compressing Method. It is not a codec - DVCM uses common compressing routines and the video can be played in all standard video players. DVCM video has always better quality than video compressed with traditional methods. Just compare our results to other videos in the internet. DVCM brings an environmentally sound solution to several environmental issues.
Immediate downloading
Best possible visual quality
No need of hard disk capacity for watching videos and movies
No need of downloading extra programs
Possibility to watch videos in low bandwidths
there are some sample clips on the site, and i wasn't very convinced about any of the clips. "best possible visual quality" doesn't show in these and "possibility to watch videos in low bandwidths" didn't really hit me either as i loaded 400kb/s clip couple of minutes with my 512/256 connection until the first frame even came up.
what are your opinions about this?
