WinDVD audio filters setup - make it stick, help!

I have serious problem and since I did not found any solution yet, I think i should ask others if anyone know any REAL SOLUTION for this mess :rolleyes:
The problem - having a 5+1 speakers, Audigy 2 zs and trying to play DVDs using the WinDVD filters under different/better/more offering GUI cause that I can't enjoy 5+1 audio.

However each time I set the settings, they go wrong (center speaker playing from right speaker) and mainly they did not STICK and every time I stop and then start playback, the settings get back reverted to "Dolby Surround Compatible" s*it :mad:

I tried looking for possible solutions in registers, but not found a damn thing. Someone more lucky?

I tried the nice-looking DVD Genie (latest 4.10), that allow some sort of filter settings manipulation too, however no help also, even the settings are supposed to work...? :rolleyes:

Possible solution - WinDVD Tweaker. The problem? I have no idea where to enter the registred informations, so it keep working as demo-mode only

...not to mention Im affraid it will work like the DVD Genie - it look like it should, but the settings did not STICK and then all is bad... :mad:

Please help! I don't like using the WinDVD for play, too useless (no startup bookmark, no "no-resize on fullscreen" option, no additional subtitles support, no seeking support... pure crap and PAIN to use... :mad:

These are known issues with WinDVD's ac3 audio filters. They weren't designed by InterVideo to be used by other players, that's a fluke spinoff of the windows operating system that you actually can, but making settings stick isn't generally possible. Also, stability can be a major issue with the WinDVD filters in 3rd party players.

Try AC3Filter, it is *much*, more capable (has normalization, downmixing abliliies, matrix adjustments to boost center, voice, bass, etc, and it's GLP freeware, plus it remembers it's settings just fine).

Yes, I know AC3filter, however in version 0.7b it don't support DTS playback, making it useless :mad:

But... Good news :D
I betatested for Alex betas of the new AC3filter, that can decode DTS as well as everything else need for DVD playback ;)
And since AC3filter remembering it's config + allow me set extensive number of nice options - I think that as soon, as the beta becomes usable, problems are gone :)

Current beta working well with BSplay only as long, as no-one open prefs and try to look at AC3filter settings there (so AC3filter as AC3 audio output must be set with older version ;) ).
Playing DVDs even with DTS flawlessly, however only using DVDplay.
Using DVDsubber cause DVDsubber crash at divide by zero - obviously DVDsubber want something from AC3filter, that it refuse to give and code jump into weird memory segment, or something ;)

But at least, progress is here! :D
