My audio is very choppy when capturing with my advc-100. I have tried several different programs (ulead dvd workshop, premier 6.0 and pinnacle studio 9.0) to capture all with the same result. It has worked flawlessly in the past. I have also tried changing the sound card with no luck.

Did you also try to capture with WinDV ?
also check your FireWire interface, in the DeviceManager,
no conflicts ? maybe remove & install again,
a "bad" capture isn't caused by windows, "it" happens all
in the ADVC100 and then tru FireWire..

windv worked great thanks. Wonder why a little freeware program works better that all the other $200-$500 dollar programs?

Now you know it's not XP, or any hardware, i guess, i've worked for
a long time with Studio 8 for capturing and editing + effects
but did not use the "extras" that much, i now capture with WinDV
and use CCE Basic to encode, With CCE Basic you can exactly pick
out, what you want to use of your capture, because it's still in AVI,
and you can choose for wav file sound, which you can easily convert
to any other format, i now use AC3 mostly, using Besweet & AC3Machine, and it's easy to work with, ...i'm kind of lazy...:)
But you should look what works for you, that's the nice
thing of the ADVC100, you can use any software...
