Hi all,

I'm new here. The Elta 8883 is the best thing I've bought since coming to Germany - discounting the beer of course :D

Anyway, I have a question - What are people's experience in using the analogue outputs for surround sound from the Elta?

I don't want to break the bank on this one, so I'm looking to avoid the major expenses in purchasing a high end system that can decode 5.1 digital if the player can do it already!

I'm considering buying a set of 5.1 computer speakers to do the job - connecting the player using RCA -> phono jack adapters. I'm having trouble finding literature on the web as to this kind of setup - is it really that bad of an idea?

Well thanks in advance for yer input!!

James

My Elta 8883 is connected to Genius SW-5.1 Home Theater speakers. They look good, sounds great, and they are cheap. They got their own amplifier built into subwoofer so you just need to connect them with Elta by chinch and you are ready to go
