I noticed the guy they quoted in that article says he's waiting for the next medium so we can buy all our stuff over again! I would hate that...I'd prefer to backup my stuff to a newer medium...not buy them all over again. Some won't even be available if they're too old.

yikes, that ain't good. and i do like to stick labels to my CD's/DVD's :eek: but at least my media is stored at a pretty constant room temperature...

What I like about this the most is that it got the "Media" attention that's has national & international coverage.
This is a "BAD" publicity for them.
Can't go around and advertise a lifelong product with premium price tag that lasts a couple of years or so.
This puts a lot a heat on the CD/DVD media makers.
I just hope this will get more coverage, especially on the TV News!
