Hello. I have read a lot of material and have tried many different methods on a particularly stubborn DVD backup of Big Fish and am not having the greatest luck here. I'm trying to accomplish a final DVD without all the extras with basically just the original menu with scene selection available as well as subtitle selection (why strip those since they don't take up any space).
What i've tried -
1. The latest version of CloneDVD2 (2.0.8.4) first to remove all the extras and unwanted audios but keeping the menu structure.
2. Menuedit to disable unused buttons (used delete option, skip to next available) button.
3. Burn with Nero.
The DVD loads to the menu fine, but seems to get stuck after I hit play. You select the play button, it goes through the FBI warning screens then hangs. This is on a Panasonic RP-62. The older Sony unit I have plays it fine. 1 out of 3 times of ejecting then inserting the disk, will eventually allow it to play. This is strange because of the INCONSISTENCY!
I've also tried -
1. Just like #1 above.
2. The used DVD remake to blank out FBI warnings, etc. and to disable my unused buttons.
Same result as above. Inconsistent playability.
Am I missing something here? After editing with Menuedit, am I supposed to update the corresponding .ifo file in IFOEDIT? -

I don't think I do when I am just deleting buttons and not replacing vobs with empty frames.
Seems like this is a player specific problem, I just want to make my backups as universal as possible and I feel I may be doing something wrong.
I also used IFOedit to delete playback in the FBI warnings according to 2Cool's guide (the warnings were in the VMG, so I thought it was a fairly easy process) - Same result as above.....
Oh, and I did preview in PowerDVD and IFOedit before burning- worked fine....
Thanks for any help.
