does anyone know if there is a way to make nero digital aac encoder work in graphedit? it seems even if pins are compatible (input pcm, output to mp4muxer or nd muxer) it refuses to make any connection ...

If you rename graphedit.exe to recode.exe, it should work, i think.
why go the way via dshow? besweet should be far more powerfull

thanx P0l1m0rph1c! It did work (though it has to be capital R).
@ bond: i want to transcode avi => mp4 in one step with nero aac encode and video pass through while utilizing 3ivx muxer's bframe & header straightening ...
well now i am stuck with the nero encoder not liking the 3ivx muxer, while i don't seem to be able to connect 3ivx mux -> 3ivx split ...
any ideas?

while i don't seem to be able to connect 3ivx mux -> 3ivx split ...its not possible to connect the 3ivx muxer -> splitter!
what container are you aiming at? matroska? i am not sure if the matroska dshow muxer is already working 100% correctly

i am aiming at mp4 ...
btw.: connecting 3ivx muxer->splitter wouldn't help anyways, as the nero muxer doesn't like it, and of course it doesn't like the video output of the avi splitter ...
so the only help would be if there was a way to connect nero aac enc->3ivx muxer ...
yeah neros filter are evil, they only want to connect to each other (thats the same for their playback filters too btw  )
so the best would be to do it that way:
- encode the audio in besweet -> .mp4 output
- connect the audio .mp4 and the video .avi to the 3ivx muxer and create the final .mp4
shouldnt be any harder to do than processing all in graphedit :)
