Ok I have myHTPC setup on my home theater PC in the livingroom. Right now when you select a movie it starts playing it in the small windows while you can still surf the other titles. However what I am going to do is encode the trailers so that they play constantly and randomly when people are surfing the titles then when they see one they like they can select it and then it will go into the movie info page where the person can read what it is about and it will start playing that actual trailer. The trailers aren't that big, usually around 80 megs, to start with. And since I am sizing them down a bunch, because they will only play while in the picture in picture style mode. Imagine this (http://myhtpc.net/images/screens/large/music2.jpg) except for movies it is on the right. The video won't get large esp since it is on a regular 720x480 TV. So what I am wanting is to rip it down to about 15mb. Using gknot and making an .avs file I then go to vdub and open the file. I select the xvid codec and leave the usual settings for the first pass and for the second i put something like 11236 in the KB because that is what it will be before the audio is added. However each time it only pumps out like a 4meg file with crappy quality. Does Xvid have a problem doing small file sizes or is there something I can do to get this right?
Thanks a bunch.

I did this following the guide for gknot/vdub step by step.
