Help with Sony MicroMv DCR-IP7E

Hi everyone.I have a SONY DCR-IP7E MicroMv camera.I tried to capture my tapes using the following programs:

Pinnacle Studio 9
Nero Vision Express (latest)
Roxio Easy Media Creator 7

Well Pinnacle Studio 9 writes only 46 seconds then stops.

Nero Vision Express gives me this error ( AppName: nerovision.exe AppVer: 2.1.0.8 ModName: expressui.dll ModVer: 2.1.0.8 Offset: 000a2eec ) so i close the application.

Roxio gives me an ( unexpected application error ).

My SONY camera is connected through FIREWIRE IEEE 1394.I'm not experienced with this camera and i don't know what's going on.I even connected my Sony with my ADVC-100 from Canopus but i had the same results.

The Sony microMV format is a proprietary MPEG-2 format, which is not supported by many programs. I believe Pinnacle Studio 9 should support it; I don't know for Nero Vision Express and Roxio Easy Media Creator 7, though. Maybe these programs expect a DV stream.

I don't have Pinnacle Studio 9. Maybe there's an option somewhere to make it capture microMV?

Yes there is an option in Pinnacle Studio 9 to record in MicroMV.
Thats what i tried but although it shows that the program records all the time,actually it only records the first 42 seconds (this is the point where i stopped the first recording in the tape and then starts the second recording in another place) .

So Pinnacle's microMV support still seems to be buggy...
What about the software that came with the camcorder? I'd try to use the Sony software to capture, then open the file in Pinnacle Studio for further processing.

I didn't manage to write my MivroMV tapes ,all 4 programs i tried have failed : Pinnacle Studio 9 - Ulead MediaStudio 7 and 8 - latest Nero Vision Express.
Maybe Sony MovieShaker will do the job but i think it can write only avi files.
Any suggestions? (except from selling the camera)

As far as I know the video in the AVI file you get from MovieShaker is encoded with the MicroMV codec. So I assume that if you can write it back to the cam, then you should try this AVI format. I have no clue whether the software is capable of writing back to the camcorder at all, though.

According to this one Pinnacle Studio 8 should be able to write back video to the camcorder:
Studio 8 supports importing video directly from a MICROMV camera, using device control to position the tape from the Studio interface. It also can export video back to the camera, after you have manually positioned the tape and started recording.
