Shrunk a couple of movies b4 realizing no VIDEO_TS.VOB was being written.
PowerDVD has no problem but my set top player won't recognize without this file. Back ups for the kiddo ya know - he has a DVD player but no PC because he's 4.
Did I do something wrong? Didn't find a mention of this in Shrink guide. Can this file be added to the disk during a second burn?
BTW - Mr. Shrink's the man!! Great software! Love the functionality. Would appreciate the help.
That's strange. Did you do a film only backup? If you did then it will have only a video_ts.ifo and video_ts.bup.
From my experienc a video_ts.vob is usually only present when there is menu (VTS_01_0.vob).

It was a film only shrink. I guess my player needs a menu to be happy.
My next idea is to shrink to HDD and use a different burning tool that will make a small menu.
Let me know if you have any other ideas.
Thanks a bunch for the info.

You can copy a small (or make an empty) VIDEO_TS.VOB and VTS_01_0.VOB. Place these in the VIDEO_TS dir. Then open IFO Edit and hit the get VTS Sectors button.
The menu vobs don't have to link to anything, they just have to be in the folder. The player looks for these files and if it isn't there, won't play.
Old Philips players have this problem. Absolutley refuse to play anything from a transcoded movie only back up, and Reel DVD authored titles. Even commercial titles that don't use the VTS_01_0.VOB and VIDEO_TS.VOB files choke on these players.
Players that have this bug (feature?) also won't load discs under 2,000,000 sectors (~4gig).
