Hi All,
I have bought the new Coral Reef HDTV WMV9 DVD and now want to convert pieces of it to another format to play with it.
Is there any new hack for the WMV9 DRM out yet ?
One way to do it, is to install something like a realtime
capture, that can capture the realtime output from Windows Mediaplayer 9 and capture this to a new file on the harddisk.
Something like http://www.fraps.com/ can be used,
but as far as I have tried, they do not yet support HDTV resolutions,
but it might be, that they just released a new version,... I have to check this out again..
The next step would be to try to hack the WIndows Mediaplayer and
make some external calls to the graphedit programm which allows a hookup externally and then there could be some directshow filters be used to
store the output to a new AVI file with NO encryption.
Has this yet been tried ?
I guess running a few tools in the background, when WIndows Mediaplayer 9 is running, must not be too complicated to see,
how WMP9 dumps the bitmaps to the screen.
Maybe this can just be hacked, so the bitmaps are just written
into a new file, maybe also just in raw RGB or YUV format and could
be later reencoded to a standard XVID encoded AVI file or something like this...
So the best way to hack this bloody DRM is to hack the Windows Mediplayer 9 and dump the output to a file.
Any comments ?
