I'm very new to dvd authoring. My goal is pretty simple: 2 audio files and one subtitle file with the video. I've decided on dvd lab pro because it seems to be the most reasonably priced authoring tool that can do this. There's really not any other options that I've seen. I do realize that the tool is currently in the beta stage, so I'm not sure if it really works properly yet or not. My question is: what format do the subs need to be in? I'm used to vobsub, having some experience in mpeg4 encoding, and have not used anything else. The app does not recognize the files that vobsub produces, and does not seem to demux the subtitle files on its own (the way it does for audio/video) when loading the vob files.

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions here; other sub ripping apps to try, possibly?

Thanks,
RIAO

I use DVDLAB 1.3 now, It work very well for my DV to DVD task, except
DVDLAB do'nt support subtitle ! I am happy to see DVDLAB Pro will suport subtitle, but it's still in beta stage, so you need to wait till it's stable; let's see what it can do at last.
