Hi guys.
Anyone have any idea since with SpruceUP I can produce a working dvd but with Maestro the menus do not work. I can press enter but not move the 'cursor' around. My standalone, Sony DVP-NS410, does not respond in anyway to left/right/up/down buttons. I have not restricted any functions in any menu within Maestro before compiling. The menus do however work with Cyberlink Powerdvd. This is getting really weird...
Thanks in advance,

Is it a 16:9 menu by any chance? If so, you'll have to create two sets of menus: one for 16:9 monitor (PowerDVD), another for a 4:3 TV (usually, pan&scan). In this case, search my recent posts, I explained this in a couple of other threads not long ago.

Hi,
the menus are 4:3. I tried using DVD-lab with the same psd & bmp -files and all works fine. I'm really puzzled by this.... and I can almost swear the menus did work with Maestro (not sure, lots of testing in few days). Tried compiling a new project with different bmp & psd -files and still no go.
Guess I'm gonna try out DVD-lab pro public beta now.... seems ok so far.

Try one experiment: change the display type in the player setup to 16:9, and see if the menu works. The picture will look distorted, but it doesn't matter. If it works, then you just didn't set up the menu correctly in Maestro.

Hi and thx for helping so far.
I've got a 16:9 Sony 32" tv so I already keep the player set to 16:9. I did double check this just in case. (And we _are_ talking about the dvd player's setting?) ... I couldn't find a way to force the 4:3 menu to 16:9 during playback. The only setting lies within the player's settings-menu, which I double checked.

So the menu must have black bars on the sides when viewed in 16:9 TV, right? Try the opposite then, switch the player settings to 4:3 (try both letterbox and pan&scan).
If you want to view a menu properly on 16:9 TV, you have to design it specifically as 16:9, not 4:3. I doubt though you can convert the aspect ratio of an existing (ripped) menu without quality loss.

Evening,
ok... I tried forcing it to 4:3 letterbox & pan&scan with no luck. The 'cursor' cannot be moved, only enter works. The menu is selfmade and it seems to be displaying just as it should... =) Thanks for the pointer though, I'll read up more about the ratios etc. ... Still, the main problem remains... reaaal weird! =(

Hi all.
Found the problem, it was my bad.... I hadn't put the navigation parameters on buttons-tab correctly.
