XP Pro Backup Disc

I have been trying to create a backup disc of my XP Pro. It works fine if used from windows but will not work if booting from CD drive - when I compare the files on the backup to that of the original - they are identical - is there a file which needs to be added? Any help will be appreciated

did you just copy the files to hd and burned from there?
then the boot sector data on the cd will be not included.
you must create a image file with ie. nero burning rom or any other
cd-copier application. you can also use google :sly: to find xp boot images (i'm talking about the boot data, not complete cd)

If you use Nero to make an image it will work fine and the new CD will remain bootable.

Just some feedback - using nero and burning an image worked great - also it was very interesting finding out a whole lot of stuff, like streamlining in the process of finding answers :D
