View Full Version : BatchCCEWS 0.9.1.4 only doing one pass vbr

CCE: 2.50
ECLCCE: 1.81
BatchCCEWS: 0.9.1.4 (i have all the options checked under file>settings)
ive tried this now with 2 different backups and both times BatchCCEWS only does a one pass vbr encode even though i have it set to do 5 passes. the 1st roba pass finishes with the vaf file, then the 2nd pass starts. the time left is far too short. once i hit 'cancel' and double click the asset in the cce window, it shows me its set to do a One Pass VBR with a Q of 40. this is in my ccedata.txt that i load into BatchCCEWS: ...\VTS__01_P01.P.16~9_1.AVS",0,9608,4582,0,5. the 0 means roba and the 5 means 5 passes right? if i double click on the job in BatchCCEWS it shows me its set to do 5 passes. i figured it might be eclcce so i went back to version 1.5c (the version that was used with DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 which works for me) and it did the same thing... starts a one vbr pass encode. is anyone else having this problem? any suggestions? need any more info? thanks.

Can you put the ecl file that was created up?
How many versions of CCE do you have installed?
DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 use to work, but now it doesn't?

i have 2 versions of cce installed: 2.50 and 2.67 trial. eclcce is pointing to 2.50.
DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 still works, BatchCCEWS: 0.9.1.4 gives me one pass vbr no matter what i do.

I don't see anything that looks obviously wrong with the ecl. It has the correct number of passes.
I'll have to ponder it a bit more.

If I am not mistaken (and I may well be), it seems there was a problem with one of the latest version of eclcce that caused that problem. It is the main reason I have not updated my eclcce and batchccews. There may be some info you can find by searching the forums.. Hope this helps out the both of you.

alright, ive done some further testing and have found the problem. i ran both BatchCCEWS 0.9.1.4 and DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 with the same files, same ccedata.txt, etc. and with 3 different versions of eclcce (1.81, 1.7b, and 1.5c). the versions of eclcce made no difference to the ecl file that each program created (all 3 made identical ecls for the particular program, batch and docce). i will not paste the whole ecl files in here; i will just note the differences between the 2:
DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 BatchCCEWS 0.9.1.4
vmode=2 vmode=0
*doesnt exist drop_frame=1
fast_mode=0 *doesnt exist
top_first=0 top_first=1
lum_level=1 lum_level=0
(sorry for the code script... only way i could get the formatting correct)
ah-ha! vmode is different! so i change the ecl created by BatchCCEWS to vmode=2 load it into cce and viola! no more one pass vbr! it does the correct number of passes. i dont know why drop_frame exists in one and not the other... same with fast_mode. top_first i assume is the fix to the TFF BFF issue we all have been having with cce. dont know why the lum_levels differ.
so then i think "hmmm why has no one else run into this problem yet?" i decide to download the trial version of cce 2.67, i point eclcce to it, start up BatchCCEWS, and whadaya know? it does the correct number of passes. am i the only one still using 2.50? are there quality advantages to 2.67? there's no speed advantage for me (athlon, 2.67 is slower than 2.50).
but i digress. the ecl for 2.67 is QUITE different from those that were created for 2.50. there's no vmode parameter, so the 'video encoding mode' is controlled elsewhere.
whacha think? can this be fixed for us cce 2.50 folk? :)

That you found the problem. I'll look through my code to find out how I screwed that one up.
You should have top first for sure, and drop frame (I think).
Anyway, I'll get it fixed for the next release.
Thanks for the work.

Looking at my code, I don't really see a problem. Could you possibly tell me what version number (complete version) it says is detected when you start BatchCCEWS?
