Hiya
what has "This is not a love song " got to do with Autoring ....NOTHING ! was just listening to it and it always makes me feel funky..
So down to business. I have been studying reauthoring for a while now and tried a few differnt apps to do so. I tried DVD Author but didn't like it . I then got DVD LAB and bought it as it seems so powerful. I am currently trialling Womble MpegVideo wizard. I have got to grips with project X and am getting footage out of it nicely demuxed and in sync, no probes there.
So far i have only tried authoring DVD's of captures from my nebula TV card. I have figured everything out , followed guides etc. No probs and its all come together. Great. Now the problem.
Last night i finished work on a stack of footage and compiled it all together and ran it through power DVD. It all works perfect. Except i have about a gig of blank space on my DVD which i want to use up. So i decided to put some more footage on the compilation. BUT HOW ?
I've never tried to re-author VTS's before. I have tried a few different ways but none of themn work. For example ; the compilation i put together i ran back thru DVD LAB but i found i can only put 1 VTS on the time line. since my DVD has 3 VTS's how do i get them all back on the timelne as 1 long clip ?. So then i ran the 3 VTS's through project X to maybe demux them again thinking it would perhaps put the output back into one file again for re-import to DVD LAB . However this is not the case, ...i got 3 sets of demuxed VTS's , so same problem with DVD LAB when i import these 3 demuxed sets of VTS's.
So now i'm a bit perplexed on how to add extra footage to my compilation. As well i didn't put chapter points in last night as i was really tired and didn't want to bother anymore. This morning i am thinking i shouldn't have been so lazy and now want to add chapter points. But again if i cant get the fotage as one long clip again how do i do this ?
This is probaly really basic stuff but for now i'm scratching my head and left wondering. I've got everyting else working fine..capping from digital TV broadcast, demuxing the streams in Project X , cutting stuff i dont want out in MPEG wizard , basic authoring in DVD LAB , burning with Nero , worked out my burner and hacked firmware and the right media types etc.....but now i am at a bit of a loss on how to pull apart and change my works of ART after i have compiled them as final output in DVD LAB.....
So , can anyone offer some hints on what to do next.
