Run-time error 13 type mismatch

I just tried to use the new guide - using Scenarist NT & the big 3 new (DoItFast4U, BatchCCEWS, ScenAid & NuMenu4U.
But when I start using it I get this error Run-time error 13 type mismatch. What is wrong. How can i fix this problem?

At what point do you get this error. You haven't provided enough error to even start giving you assistance.

It starts just a few seconds after NUMENU4YOU starts. I have Windows XP and I'm using doitfast4you 1.4.7.0, batchccews 0.9.1.3.beta with EclCCE 1.81 (have tried eclcce 1,7b with same result)Avisynth 2.5.4.0
CCE version 2.67.00.10

Try taking NuMenu4U out of the picture and see if everything runs ok. There are a few bugs that are being delt with in this version. To take numenu out, under global options, make sure re-code menus using numenu4u" isn't selected. And under post processing, make sure "Do not copy menus" is not selected. Now run it again and see if you still get the error. Atleast you will be able to see which program is causing the error.

I tried your suggestions and it worked. I don't get the errormessage any more. I'm working with Ichi the Killer region 1. But now it seems that DI4U has stopped. It sais "(20:31:42) Creating M:\doitfast4u\VIDEO_TS directory using unused VTSes
(20:31:42) -This may take a while!-"
That was 70 mins ago and it dosen't seem to make any progress. Well I'm going to bed now and I'm leaving it on trough the night. I'll post the result tomorrow

11 hours later it is still the same.

DIF4U was working for 11 mins cmpleting the DVD decrypter job.
It has made the VTS02 directory wich is containing the whole movie completely separated. All the audio track and sub traks separated.
and he movie itself is .M2V

wow ... registered since oct 2001 and this is your first thread ... you may well qualify for 1st prize in 'the most excellent use of the search button by any forum member' award for 2004! :D
but all joking aside, this thread really should be in the 'DIF4U etc forum' as it is there that you will receive the most prompt responses to your queries.

now i will assume that you are unfamiliar with the 'big 3' process, so sorry if i tell you things you already know.

without the DIF4U log file (enable in menu options) i can only assume that the process was halted in the 'copying menu files' stage.
could you please confirm what processes are running in your task manager at this point.

also (as you have not progressed very far in the process this shouldnt be a huge ask) could you please try the whole process again with the settings mentioned by Mac Sidewinder (even demux into a new directory after re-starting your computer):
'global options' > 'Re encode Menus using NuMenu4u Before demuxing' is NOT selected.
'global options' > 'post processing' > 'Do Not Copy Menu Files' is NOT selected
'global options' > 'post processing' > 'Create Video_TS using unused VTSes' IS selected.
'global options' > 'Create Debug Log' IS selected.

also what version of DVDDecrypter are you using? and have you created an .iso image of your disc which is then mounted in an emulator as recommended in the guide?

It is not easy to write in english, so I hope that you understand what I mean.

First of all. I have used the former guide from Domm9 (using Scenarist NT & the big 3 (DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U & ReAuthorist) with success. I just thought that I should upgrade to the latest guide. So I payed my share of money to get the latest version of DIF4U 1.4.7.0. And now it don't work. (So the moral here is probably to get everything for free:D )

I'm using DVD Decrypter 3.2.2.0. and yes I do make an .iso image mounting it in Daemontool.

I just tried again to do it with NM4U and the run-time error 13 pops up. When this happends NM4U and DIF4U is running in my task manager.
DVD Decrypter pops up and shuts down several times. When I press OK on the error message the prossess starts again and stops with Scene-aid telling me that scan is finished. And from now on nothing more happends.

So I'm going trough the global settings and make the changes that you suggests (To take NM4U out of the picture) and this time it proceeds further than it did yesterday, as a matter of fact it still runs. It's been running now for over 30 mins. So maybe it will go on to complete the whole thing now.

Since I did not use NM4U will it still work in the end?

Even though I have done this with the earlier guide I am not a professional in doing these things yet.:p

So as Mac Sidewinder tells me, there are some bugs in NM4U. So the error must come from NM4U. It does not appear without using NM4U.

Are the guys who are making the program aware of the problem? I can't imagine that I am the only one in the world bothered with this specific problem.

You won’t belive what just happened. After CCE was finished doing it’s job, (it made a VAF-file. It is 57876 kb) using almost 2 hours. A message pops up telling me that it will shut down in 30 second. So I just waited thinking it was the program that would be shut down. When the countdown ended my whole computer shut down. :confused:

So now I have a VTS02 directory containing 7.45 GB, with files I don’t know how to use.

I think I give up and wait for a new version of NM4U, and go back to the earlier stage.
It is starting to get on my nerves now. My wife is complaining that she has'nt seen meg the last 48 HRS.

by all means take a break, spend some time with your wife, take a deep breath and when you sit yourself back at the computer, you will be relaxed, centered and ready to try again ... and when you do, we will be more than happy to help you through any problems that you have :D

but first i will answer some of your questions.So I payed my share of money to get the latest version of DIF4U 1.4.7.0. And now it don't work. the problems you are experiencing are not a result of DIF4U. with all of the added features in the latest build, it is definitely worth the small donation to become a VIP member.
as for numenu4u? well a brief history lesson (please note that history may be flawed owing to my budgie brain memory :rolleyes: ) ...

numen4u was initially released with ifoedit used to remux the re-encoded streams. however owing to some incompatability issues, zuel completely rewrote the program to use its own authoring engine. the only problem with this version (which is still avaliable from zuel's website http://numenu4u.users.btopenworld.com/ ) was the occasional menu with buttons that could not be selected in the 'first play' of a motion menu. so ... being the perfectionist that he is, zuel once again completely rewrote the program to utilise scenarist as the authoring engine!

currently the scenarist version of numenu4u is in 'beta' stage, with a few bugs yet to iron out (although i have every confidence that zuel will crush them all soon). so please be patient. and be a good beta tester and keep trying new versions as they are released and posting your results in this thread : NuMenu4u Scenarist Version (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73926)
Since I did not use NM4U will it still work in the end? absolutely yes .. if you use the settings described above.When the countdown ended my whole computer shut down. what settings do you have selected in DoCCE4U/BatchCCE? have you tried version 0.9.1.4?
Scene-aid telling me that scan is finished. And from now on nothing more happends. you have to select 'generate script' in Scenaid following scan. you then import the .scp file into Scenarist as usual.
