Hello folks,
@jdobbs: so far, 1 of the 3 DVDs that were giving me problems seems to encode/rebuild flawlessly. I will finish the other 2 and edit that post to tell you the status of it.
Great work!
Can you check for audio sync on extras and trailers? Especially those where you may have used the 1-2-1/2 option?

I did a test on a DVD I had a problem with when using the 1/2D1 for extras option and it came out fine. The test also was using the newest version of mpeg2dec3dg. I do not see any problems with audio sync and had no problems with the prepare/encode/rebuild with dvd-rb.
DVD Decryptor (file mode)
DVD-RB V0.46
mpeg2dec3dg.dll (decodefix110RC3.zip)
CCE SP 2.50
1/2D1 - 1/2D1 for extras enabled
1 click mode
ImageTool (create ISO)
DVD Decryptor (burn)
Sony DVPNS725P
By the way, thanks jdobbs. I purchased CCE SP 2.50 about 2 years ago when I thought I'd start using the big3 method. Then I never got into it and wrote CCE off as a waste purchase. It's great to get to use it 2 years later. Thanks!
Same great news here. Tried a DVD I had problems with at 1/2D1+1/2 bits (lots of extras on this DVD). Previously had an error 9. I used the newest version of CCE basic (2.69).
Actually, I was able to give this the acid test. My wife had me doing some electrical work this morning. Shut off the circuit to the wrong area of the house ... my computer :scared: Yipes! Anyway, started back up and DVD-RB picked up right where it left off in the encode. Rebuild went fine.
DVD Decryptor (iso mode)
DVD-Shrink to remove unneeded audio and subtitles.
DVD-Remake to remove just a few things
DVD-RB V0.46
CCE SP 2.69
1/2D1 - 1/2D1 for extras enabled
1 click mode; then 3 click mode (after my problem)
Nero Burning Rom
Sampo player
Program is working fantastic!

It worked for me on "Some Like It Hot" (R1). v0.45 was getting #9 on Half-D1 extras (but not Half&Half), but .46 rebuilt the files fine. Unfortunately I'm redoing it because I didn't like the resulting video quality. Not RB's fault, just a jam packed disc. I was hoping to test out BOV, but it will have to wait until later.

Hi, iv had traffic pal (uk) on my h/d for weeks with all previos versions of rb that i'v tried it's gave runtime error 9 during the prepare stage, same point everytime at vts_03.
But when i tried ver 46 i got this error instead, illegal video gop size. possible encrypted source aborting.
Im using dvd decryptor in file mode, current version to rip disc's and everything else is upto date.
This is the only disc that's caused any problems for me yet, and any advice on this error to hopefully helping me solve it would be appreciated. its staying on my pc until it gets rebuilt!!
Apart from that awesome programme

Fixed error 9 for me on Kill Bill R1 - haven't tested the result for any other problems like sync, etc.

Same here. Fixed error 9's on my Futurama season 2 disc 1 and disc 3. And I am happy to report that BOV seems to be fully functional on my end. The 'Hulk Cam' feature of The Hulk is a-ok (a button appears in the movie, you press it and watch a special feature about that scene). Fantastic work jdobbs!
Hi,
I'm about to test the DVD-RB soon.
I'm just curious to ask that why do You need DVD2AVIdg ?
Shouldn't the DVD-RB and CCE bassic + some burning program be enough?
I understand that with use of dvd shrink, it is possible to cut some unwanted material out.
Thanks.

@begu you need the mpeg2dec3dg.dll file that comes in the dvd2avidg zip folder.
copy i into your avisynth plugins folder like you would have done before with mpeg2dec3.dll's -
If anybody else does 'ItalianJob' in 1/2-1/2 - please check audio sync in the extras. I've got a feeling it is a replicatable problem and may point jdobbs to an audio sync issue that may apply elsewhere.

Apart from that awesome programme That error happens when DVD-RB scans looking for an I-Frame and can't find one after about 50 frames in a row. There is very probably a problem with your source (maybe a corrupted file). The instance where I personally saw this was the result of DVD-Decrypter failing to decrypt one of the files (the error was corrected in the last couple versions of DVD Decrypter).

thanks i'll try smart riper instead to rip the disc again then try to rebuild it again. Im using dvd decryptor ver 3.2.2.0 so there might be an error on the disc itself only time will tell :)
I had a very noticeable audio sync problem on the first extra (deleted scenes) of this encode:
0.45
Love Actually NTSC R1
1/2-1/2 extras
CCE 2.50
So I redid the entire encode without 1/2-1/2:
0.46
Love Actually NTSC R1
(1/2-1/2 off)
CCE 2.67
The audio sync problem is still there, same place, just as noticeable.

The audio sync problem is still there, same place, just as noticeable. This is the what really puzzles me... I did this exact same disc, with the exact same encoder, and it works perfectly.
Note: My encodes were with CCE SP 2.50 and CCE Basic 2.67
That's very strange. I was assuming this would be an easy way for you to see the problem, since the sync problem is so blatant over here.
Is there anything I can do to help pinpoint the problem? Any files I can send you?
More info: It appears to depend on the player. I just tried the disc on another player (Philips), and the sync is dead on. But on my main player, a very good Panasonic that has always been top notch, the sync problem is definitely there. Unfortunately the picture from the Philips is vastly inferior.
Watching it again a couple times, I see that the offset between the audio and the video doesn't just grow linearly. It starts off in sync, but then drifts in and out of sync over the course of the 11 minutes. I would guess that it's never off by more than 500 ms or so.
jdobbs, did you do the 1/2-1/2 on IJob? If so, were the extras, specifically those dealing with the Mini's in sync? Or, were you speaking of "IJob" when you said:This is the what really puzzles me... I did this exact same disc, with the exact same encoder, and it works perfectly. ?
@DDogg
What standalone are you seeing the Italian Job sync problem on? Have you tried a different standalone?
I see it on power dvd, apex and cyberhome. I think that makes it fairly evident that it is not a figment of my imagination.

Actually I'd forgotten that I'd loaned that DVD to someone... still haven't gotten it back.

You ever get it back? Do you think the repair you made for drifting audio sync in version .49 might have dealt with this one?
