DVD backup gets cut off at end

I'm trying to backup 2 of my dvds, one is dual and the other is single layer. However once they get near the end the movie cuts off. I have tried to slow down the burning speed to 2x and different media with no luck. I have tried 2 dvd players and 2 computers and they all do the same thing and get cut off at the same point. Anything i might be doing wrong?

How large is the second disc you're attempting to burn? If the total size is the maximum DVD-R capacity, it won't fit on DVD+R.

I assume you compressed the dual-layered disc to DVD-5 size, didn't you?
