Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I've looked around but couldn't find the answer using search here or on google...

Basicly I'd like to be able to open the files my Hauppauge pvr 350 card captures in MyHTPC in VirtualDub or TMPGEnc for editing/filtering etc, but I get unsupported format.

They play fine in WMP of course.

Am I missing something very simple?

I have, thank you.

The issue isn't not being able to capture, its manipulating video captured via the pvr 350 hardware mpeg2 encoder in MyHTPC, it may be something to do with their capture plugin, GotTV.

I've asked over on the MyHTPC forums as well about this. I was just wondering if there was a codec for directly modifying the files captured by the PVR 350 mpeg-2 encoder directly.

Right now I can convert to WMP9.0 then back to .AVI and edit as I want, but that's clunky and lossy. I guess this belongs in the Avisynth/Vdub forum.
