View Full Version : The Cooler Aborts DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6

I used DVD Decrypter 3.2.2.0 to create a decrypted directory of the movie I just got from Best Buy, THE COOLER. Great movie!

Seems that DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6 aborts when I try to shrink the files decrypted by DVD Decrypter. When I used CLONEDVD2 to shrink the same movie, it worked fine. Then I gave DVD Shrink the outout from CLONEDVD2, and it aborted with the same error message.

Any clues?

I noticed if you rip the R1 DVD of this film, load it into ifoedit, and punch "Get VTS Sectors" it will correct a lot of things. I tried it twice, straight from the retail without any stripping or editing of any kind.

This DVD also caused an error for me in the rebuilding phase of DVD-RB.

Flash,

The jury is out as to THE COOLER DVD being authored with errors, or if new authoring tools and/or techniques are being tried to defeat backups.

Looks like the Cooler is the new test DVD for related software.

I used the latest version of dvd shrink and it didn't give me any problems. dvd shrink has worked 100% of the time for me.
the only problem I ever had backingup a movie was when I bought a new 80 gig WD serial ata hdd now that was fun to configure.... but thats another story all togather.

I have verified that turning the Monitor OFF has gotten around the problem. Funny, because the monitor ON is not a problem for all but a couple DVDs I've tried. Go figure!

When you spend a couple days using an editor that refers to the PREVIEW function as a MONITOR, its not easy to shift gears to Shrink's terminology. Glad I gave you a chuckle.
