DVD authoring limitations

I have attempted to use both DVDAuthor and WinCreator to develope the DVD input stream. With both of these programs when the mpg files plus the associated files reach the capacity of a double layered DVD the process aborts. Is the a program out that lets you exceed the double layered limit and then process the entire stream with DVDShrink. In two cases I have just come in under the double layered limit and then process the stream with DVDShrink and the final DVD fit in a standard DVD-R disk and when viewed was fine.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

U could try Maestro or Scenarist for instance. Never tried to produce a titleset that is bigger than dvd9, though.
