Hi, i've just started to use DVD-RB yesterday. I followed everything in the doom9 guide and it went well up to the encoding phase.

The preparation was ok, took 4 min. Then after i've click encoding, cce opened but there was no progression visible on DVD-RB. So i went to sleep and 8 hours later, still nothing. It was still on the creating M2V for VTS_05 segment 0 for 8 hours. Finally, when i've click pause/cancel, cce launch it self like 15 times, then the rebuild phase was available. But after i've click it to test, it told me to do the encoding and preparation phase before and my movie was only 170 MB.

Help anyone?

Thanks

-You need to use ECLCCE for CCE 2.50
-You must have the correct CCE version selected during prepare.

I'm currently using CCE SP 2.66 and i'm using ECLCCE with it. Do you have an suggestion? Do i need to use ECLCCE with cce sp?

Still, you don't know why it does not progress during the encoding?

What was the bite rate of the VTS it was hanging on for 8 hours?

No, you do not need ECLCCE with CCE SP 2.66 or later. You do need ECLCCE with all trial versions and with CCE SP 2.50 and CCE Basic.

Edit: What movie, NTSC or PAL, what region and did you do any preprocessing?

Well its hard figuring out whats wrong when DVD-RB is so easy to install and use. If you follow the instructions on this site theres nothing more to it.

edit: you do need ECLCCE for CCE SP 2.66 Trial (even if you *enhanced* it with a special thingie you found on the web)

The movie was NTFS and it was "Le Marais". Original size of 5.2 GB.

Are we suppose to see a progress bar during the encoding. I've retry it again and it seems to be doing something because my cpu is working like hell but no progression is visible. Again, 7 hours later, nothing in encoding except the program telling me to run the encoding before the final step.

I run with a P4 3Gig so and don't think it's a cpu problem

Suggestion?

NTFS = Windows NT File System :)

Yes when DVD-RB encodes CCE window comes up and first there's a window where it writes the .VAF file and two blue bars move from left to right, then comes the .M2V writing and the top blue bar shows progress of the current pass and the lower bar shows total progress. Then CCE closes, opens again and writes the .VAF etc.

Unless you've chosen "minimize CCE" option of course.

Thanks for the NTFS clarification. I was formating a computer at my job at the same time, guess i mixed up :)

Ok, so there's definitely something wrong, because there's no progress bar.

You got any suggestion? Perhaps try a different CCE? Do you know some settings that may correct this?

I dont know really, just make sure the latest Avisynth is installed, and you've copied the mpeg2decdg.dll to the plugins dir of avisynth.

Also "Path to CCE SP NEW" refers to CCE SP 2.66 under the DVD-RB setup (Options->Setup), this is where you add the path to ECLCCE. And make sure you've run ECLCCE on its own and pointed it to the CORRECT 2.66 CCE exe. You must also choose CCE SP 2.66+ from the DVD-RB menu (Options->CCE Options).

And did you rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter in file mode selecting ALL FILES? If you only have some files from the DVD it wont work.

I cant think of much else since there isnt really much more to it. :)

All right! I appreciate your help Joergen! I'll try it again with another CCE to see, i also have the 2.50 version.

If any idea come up, just tell me!
