Hi,

I'm looking to back up 3 dvds (Blackadder 2/3/4) onto 1 dvd. I'm aware the quality may be terrible but I'd still like to see it. I've tried using re-author in dvd-shrink and dragndrop the vobs, but the compression level doesn't go down low enough. Can anyone suggest an alternative method? I was considering buying CCE and throttling my pc for a day but just in case there's some quicker/easier method I'd be thankful!

I don't think it is even possible.

I did LOTR FOTR EE onto one DVD. This was 10.5GB and a reduction of 60% compression. 19GB will be something like 110% to 120%.

You could always put the files made by DVD Shrink into Shrink again. I have actually shrinked files by three or four times (just extras and not the actual film or menus). Also, do deep analysis each time.

I would go manualy, selecting frame size 352x288 and mpeg1 compression using the old Panasonic mpeg1 premiere plugin, or the standalone version.

U will have far more superior quality than mpeg2 in the range 1600-2000. U can even lower the bitrate at 1200, thats VHS actually, but u r trying to squeeze 18 hours or so of material into a dvd.
